To remedy an identified hardware issue within a core switch at ULCC they have deemed it necessary to cause a brief outage during their next scheduled maintenance window between 7am and 9am on Tuesday 28th May.
This fault does not currently affect our system but it is detrimental to the resilience of ULCC's infrastructure as a whole and must be addressed urgently. They intend to perform a restart to resolve the issue and expect this to take less than 60 seconds to complete. During this brief period, our system / VLE will be unavailable.
In the event their remedial action does not resolve the issue, they will re-patch all the systems concerned, including ours, during the same maintenance session. Although they fully expect any outage to be brief, as a contingency they are advising us that the 2 hour maintenance window may be used in full. They will then perform a full hardware replacement at a later date.
