Subject: FallSafe inpatient falls prevention resource pack

Dear all,

We have now launched the Falls prevention resource pack.

In addition to the preventing inpatient falls e-learning course, the pack contains the learning from the FallSafe project, care bundle information and templates and many other resources. Additional copies of most documents and the full project report will also be available from www.rcplondon.ac.uk/projects/fallsafe after the press release on 17th July.

A resource pack will be sent to each Nurse Director in the UK by 20 July 2012, and chief executives have been sent a letter about the release.

FallSafe will also be promoted by ‘Harm free’ care . It helps NHS teams in their aim to eliminate harm in patients from four common conditions: pressure ulcers, falls, urinary tract infections in patients with a catheter and new venous thromboembolism (VTE). ‘Harm free’ care will be featuring the FallSafe resources on http://harmfreecare.org and introducing them in a WebEx on falls prevention. The WebEx is on the 19 July at 4pm. If you would like to register click on https://nhs.webex.com/nhs/onstage/g.php?d=846322819&t=a

This will track your progress and link to your staff record.  If you have any problems then contact: http://www.esrsupport.co.uk/nlms/access.html.

  1. 2.       Via the e-learning repository- http://www.elearningrepository.nhs.uk  If you have an NHS email they will send you a user name and password automatically (but it might take a day or two).Once you have your password and are signed in, use the following link to begin: http://www.elearningrepository.nhs.uk/LOR/uploads/NLMS/RCPFalls001/index.html.

However this will not be able to track and save your progress.
